Paper Heart Candy Pouches (Full Tutorial)

Who is ready for some super cute candy pouches?!

To make your own paper heart candy pouches you will need:

Scrap book paper
Your sewing machine
Small candies

Start by cutting out whichever size heart you would like to use (I used the large heart).

Trace your heart template onto your scrap book paper.

Cut out your paper hearts. You can use a different color backing, and for an added fun touch you can use texture edge scissors. Cut 1 front and 1 back for each heart pouch you would like to make.

Place your hearts wrong sides together.

Using your sewing machine stitch around the outside of your heart using a 1/4" seam allowance leaving yourself hole of about an inch on one of the straight edges.

Using your finger push open the inside of your heart. Now the next part can be tricky! You can use a funnel your candies fit through, a paper funnel, or your fingers to add candies to your heart.

You may need to shake your candies into your heart a bit since the paper can be stiff. Don't over fill your heart as you still need to be able to stitch it closed.

Pinch your opening closed and stitch over the opening with a 1/4" seam allowance.

And there you have it! Candy filled paper heart pouches!

Tear them open and reveal the snack inside!

Ready. Set. SEW!
